I'VE BEEN TAGGED!!
My friend Sarah of Paisly Studio has tagged me. Now I have to try to come up with 5 interesting things about myself!! Let's see....
About 15 years ago, my hubby bought me a little scroll saw for Christmas (yes, I asked for that) and I started making small wooden items. About a year later, I decided that I wanted to learn to sew, so I bought a used sewing machine for $50.00. It took me about 3 hours just to figure out how to thread it!! I started out by making stark white dolls with raffia hair!! Remember those?? Since then I have gradually gotten more primitive, and as you can tell by looking at my work now...I love to make black folk art dolls.
I have been fortunate enough to mainly stay at home taking care of my 5 children. I did work at a daycare for about 5 years, but was able to take the 2 youngest ones with me while the others were in school. I love being able to be at home so I can always be there when my family needs me.
I am the 6th child of 7 growning up mostly on 40 acres in Central WI. We recently moved to Eastern Tn. I have to say, that I love winters in TN.!!
In my spare time, I love to go to junk stores and antiquing. I am always on the look out for some little treasure to work into my art. I love the primitve style. I hardly ever buy anything that is without some kind of flaw. I love to imagine who it was that built the cupboard, sewed the little dress, etc.
Last, but certainly not least, I am a born-again Christian. I certainly have not always walked the perfect walk, but I believe God loves me in spite of myself. If it wasn't for having God in my life, I wouldn't be where I am today. He deserves all the credit for my success. God gave the gift~~He deserves the glory!!
Now~~ to tag 5 friends~~ I tag....Starla, Jenny, Lori, Lorraine & Wendy.

What's New For Spring~~
It has been cold and rainy here in East TN. We even had a dusting of snow the other day, so I have been staying inside trying to get a jump on my Spring & Summer items for 2008. I have been working on pillows, ornies, rabbits and dolls. Here are a couple of new items I have on ebay right now.
